Working to produce planting plans for the courtyard of the sanctuary room, the aim was to lessen the impact of the hospital buildings and to create a soothing, tranquil space. Birch trees were included to give a sense of enclosure around 360° revolving seats, whilst a planting palette of predominantly evergreen shrubs and perennials was chosen for their calming qualities and all year round interest.
