South Terraced House
Small, south facing, front garden of a terraced house to the south of Edinburgh.
This front garden was made more inviting with the introduction of colour, fragrance and strong blocks of planting. Within a gravel seating area, blocks of formally trimmed box, rosemary and thyme were contrasted with the looser textures of a block of ornamental grasses and vivid coloured perennials. The path to the front door was lined with tall planters of lavender that raised their fragrance closer to the passer-by and a cedar storage unit, with a sedum roof was designed to conceal bins and recycling boxes.
